Overview

Do you plan on building a website but shudder at the thought of all the technicalities involved that you can’t make head nor tail of? Have you been researching the process and encountering Clickfunnels in most of the results listed by your search engine? Well, you have now landed on the right page!

This post aims to be a beginner’s guide to understanding “What Is Clickfunnels?” and How Does Clickfunnels Work?

It also includes a breakdown of its features; details on the pricing structures of the platform; and information on it’s history and the history of it’s most famous co-founder, Russell Brunson.

What Is Clickfunnels?

Clickfunnels is an all-in-one sales page and funnel builder packaged as an SaaS- or “Software As A Service”– that comes with it’s famous drag-and-drop landing page builder; a wide range of sales tools and integrations; and a plethora of included training programs.

Founded in 2014 by the famous Idaho-based marketer Russell Brunson, Clickfunnels is a sales funnel building SaaS which a wide range of businesses use to build attractive online websites and “funnels”.

Clickfunnels is based on the core idea of “funnel-based marketing” and a common refrain in Clickfunnels marketing materials revolves around the “death of the ‘website'” and it’s replacement by the (superior) “funnel”.

In this regard, Clickfunnels simplifies the process of building a converting sales funnel as opposed to static ‘websites’ or ‘blogs’. Brunson and his team state that they designed the platform to be easy to use and accessible to all, primarily through the integration of their simple drag-and-drop editing tool.

Click Funnels Vs Clickfunnels – What Is The Difference?

To understand the difference between a “click funnel” and ‘Clickfunnels’ the company, it is important to know the meaning of each.

What is a Click Funnel?

A “click funnel” is based on the concept of an online sales funnel. It is all about automating the sales process to control every stage of the buyer’s journey. The funnel helps website visitors to easily navigate a web page selling a product or service, and acts almost like a “salesman” taking them through a journey.

For instance, a company whose website is primarily a “blog” may be losing customers that a “Click funnel” could capture.

Similarly, an ecommerce store for whom visitors are met with a plethora of items and little in the way of persuasion could be losing sales compared to if they greeted visitors with a “funnel” that quickly determined their interest and automatically “sold them” on the best product for their needs.

What is Clickfunnels?

“Clickfunnels”, on the other hand, is a company and a SaaS product.

It allows users to build the type of “Click funnels” described above.

Here is how a ClickFunnels review describes the platform:

Clickfunnels is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, where you can get everything you need right in one place to create funnels that bring in traffic.

The platform is focused on business owners and marketers who want to take every advantage available of having a business online and bringing in as many customers as possible. You can run a membership site, a consulting site, an author site, or deal only in affiliate marketing. The way to bring in traffic is through a strategic system of funnels.

Every tool you will ever need to run and integrate your business is provided to you on the platform and it is all found in one spot with one monthly billing.

As per the website’s official instructions, to create a sales funnel with Clickfunnels, you simply have to:

  • Open up ClickFunnels, and select “Build A New Funnel” from the drop-down menu.
  • Choose your main goal: Generate leads, generate sales, or run a webinar event.
  • Pick which type of funnel you want to create

Russell Brunson And The Origin Of Clickfunnels

Clickfunnels is to a very large degree associated with the identity of one of its founders, Russell Brunson

According to the official website, here is how the origin story of Clickfunnels goes:

“ClickFunnels was born in 2014 when the frustration and time required to build a successful funnel just became too much to handle. Russell and Todd got together for a week and mapped out their dream software, asking questions like, “Well what if it could do this?” If a question made sense, they would write it down and make it actionable, and some times, Todd would shut an idea down if it was just too far-fetched. After the week ended, they went their separate ways and got to work. Todd built ClickFunnels in the months to follow and Russell sold it. Some would call this partnership a match made in heaven, but we believe that when two or more great minds come together…”
